Brandon Park Children's Centre in Glen Waverley is a community-based children's service with an integrated kindergarten program that has a strong emphasis on play based education and learning in both the indoor and outdoor environments. Our Kindergarten has introduced a Nature Kinder program 1 day a week as part of our funded program. During the assessment and rating visit the service performed at an overall rating of “Exceeding National Quality Standards”.
Work Days of the Role Monday - Friday (Full time)

Description We are looking for an exceptional Early Childhood Teacher with a strong community focus to lead our four year old integrated kindergarten program. We pride ourselves on our low staff turnover, and are hoping for another valued member to join our team. Value for self and others, children, families and environments is a must. Our kindergarten programs are facilitated in well-resourced natural environments which cater to the children's diverse individual needs. The position is a full time appointment (40 hrs per week which entitles a RDO per month). The Centre is managed by a Director and governed by a parent Committee of Management. The successful applicant will teach a group of up to 20 children (with a maximum of 15 children a day) supported by one co educator. We are seeking someone who regards children as competent and capable individuals, and who is motivated to inspire and facilitate their creative and learning potentials through their teaching and learning strategies. As a maternity role with potential future opportunities across our service, you will have the opportunity to commence in March for an extended handover with our current Kindergarten Teacher. You will have the endless support from your experienced Kindergarten Assistants enabling you the best opportunity to provide an extensive and wonderful program. All your creativity and big ideas will be encouraged and supported.

Additional Requirements Must have - Excellent communication skills, organisational and documentation skills. A sound knowledge of children's development and understands and values the importance of practical teamwork.
