About the Centre/Service For over 85 years, Robina Scott Kindergarten has enriched the lives of many local children in Williamstown and the Hobsons Bay Community. A not-for-profit community run kinder, we operate two beautiful campuses for 3 and 4 yr old sessional kindergarten in Williamstown, both of which are rated Exceeding by ACECQA. We provide high quality education and care to over 160 children in the local community and are a highly sought-after kindergarten. We pride ourselves on our connection to the local community and can regularly be seen on excursions around the local area. Description This role is to commence in 2022. Some casual hours may be available in 2021.   Total of 24.5 hours over 5 days. The following hours will be paid at the relevant Diploma rate for all hours detailed below.

  Robina Scott Kindergarten is seeking an Early Childhood Educator who believes that the first few years of early education are fundamental in preparing a child with the skills necessary to becoming a lifelong learner. The applicant’s passion for early childhood education and ability to help each child discover their full potential, will put them in good stead for this position.   The successful applicant will contribute to developing an environment of positive and trusting relationships with the children, other teachers and educators, parents, the Service Leader and Education Leader and other stakeholders. They will assist in the planning and implementation, in consultation with the Early Childhood Teacher, parents and other educators, of culturally rich and welcoming learning environments and activities which are appropriate to the developmental needs and interests of all children including the provision of an accessible and inclusive program for children with a disability.   The role will require a total of 24.5 hours per week. You would be a key team member in a 4 year old group (two 7.5 hr contact time sessions), and provide lunch cover for the remaining three days.   • Diploma qualification suitable for an early childhood educator under the Education and Care Services National Law. Education and Care Services National Regulations and the DET Kindergarten Funding Guide
  • Approved First Aid qualifications covering first aid and emergency management of asthma and anaphylaxis, recognised by ACECQA
  • Approved First Aid qualifications covering first aid and emergency management of asthma Knowledge of all relevant regulations and statutory requirements, including the EYLF, NQS.

Additional Requirements • An understanding and knowledge of early childhood development relevant to their level of qualification and position • Ability to assist in the provision of a developmentally appropriate program for the children in partnership with the early childhood teacher and parents • An ability to plan, reflect, work and manage time effectively with minimal supervision. • Reasonable knowledge and understanding of the National Law and Regulations • Have a sound understanding and knowledge of early childhood development and education • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with children, the committee of management (employer), parents, other staff and professionals
