Hours of Work of the Role The diploma position will be over 5 days. 25 hours per week - Monday to Friday 8:30am-1:30pm
Description St. John's Kindergarten is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Bilingual Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care qualified educator that it join our team of professional and experienced educators. The candidate must be proficient in Burmese dialect, Hakha Chin and also have experience in supporting children with additional needs and Early Start Kindergarten eligible persons. The Fixed Term Part Time position is funded by our SRF 2022. The position will be 25 hours over 5 days per week: - Mondays 8:30am → 1:30pm to Friday 8:30am → 1:30pm. There may be flexibility to hours. Our stand-alone Kindergarten provides a high quality education and care for children aged 3-5 years in stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments. St. John's Kindergarten is run by a voluntary parent Committee of Management; we offer state-funded 3 and 4 year old Kindergarten sessions. The successful applicant will be valued for their ability to work collaboratively with the teacher, family members and other staff to achieve positive outcomes for children of all abilities.  Also contribution to centre practices, philosophy and educational programs in a supportive working environment, and must be able to fulfil the following essential criteria:
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification
  • Bilingual - Burmese dialect Hakha Chin, and/or Zomi/Karen and English
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current ‘Working With Children Check’ and ‘Police Check’
  • A commitment to continuous learning, best practice and achieving high quality service delivery and a sound knowledge of the National and Victorian Early Years Frameworks
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organisational skills in both languages (English and Hakha Chin)
  • Able to build positive relationships with families, children and colleagues
  • Be able to work effectively in a team
Qualifications
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification
  • Working With Children Check and Police Check
  • Two referees
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate
  • Mandatory Reporting and other obligations for the Early Childhood Sector Certificate
  • Proof of Covid-19 Certificate
