06 OctBangarra Dance Theatre PD for early years educators

Posted on 06 Oct 2020

Bangarra Dance Theatre are extending their professional learning program to early years educators and you don’t need any dance experience! Over the last few years we have been delivering professional learning workshops for teachers in primary and secondary schools. With the support of Creative Victoria Bangarra have just announced a series of subsidised professional learning workshops for Victorian educators and are extending this opportunity to Early Learning educators in Victoria.

Bangarra is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation and one of Australia’s leading performing arts companies, widely acclaimed nationally and around the world for their powerful dancing, distinctive theatrical voice and utterly unique soundscapes, music and design.

Delivered by a team of Choreographers and Teaching Artists, these 3-hour workshops explore how teachers and students can meaningfully and respectfully engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures in the context of curriculum, as well as through school community activities.

Suitable for all educators, including pre-service and early learning teachers, the workshop includes presentations, open-forum discussions, creative tasks, and a Q&A – no dance experience is required.
