08 NovConference Call for Presentations – Deadline Extended to 24 November
The deadline for proposals to present at the 2018 Early Childhood Education Conference has now been extended to close of business Friday, 24 November.
Now in its 13th year, the Early Childhood Education Conference is organised by Early Learning Association Australia (ELAA) in partnership with Gowrie Victoria and the members of the Conference Reference Committee (CRC).
The CRC comprises representatives of the partner organisations (ELAA and Gowrie Victoria), the Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET), Community Childcare Vic, the Centre for Community Child Health, Banyule City Council, FKA Children’s Services, Noah’s Ark Inc, Playgroup Victoria, Early Childhood Australia Vic, Early Childhood Intervention Australia Vic and the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc.
The conference brings together over 1000 early childhood professionals including early childhood education and care service providers, educators, and specialists working with children from birth to the early years of school.
The theme for the 2018 Early Childhood Education Conference is Our Children – Our Communities. It emphasises the centrality of children to the work of all early childhood education and care practitioners and seeks to provoke thinking and discussion about the importance of the broader relationships between educators, researchers, policy makers, specialist service providers, parents, carers and communities to achieving the best learning outcomes for preschool children.
Presentation proposals will be assessed with respect to how they:
- directly relate to the conference theme (see above)
- inform conference attendees regarding innovative approaches to practical service delivery, relevant research, and policy development relevant to the early childhood education and care sector.
- Presentation proposals (see link to proposal form at the end of this message) must be submitted to ELAA by 5pm Friday 24 November, 2017.
- Presentation proposals will be assessed by a Presentation Selection Sub-committee of the CRC that includes members of the CRC and experienced early childhood education and care practitioners.*
- Accepted papers will be confirmed in writing by early December, 2017.
*You may be contacted by the Selection Sub-committee for further information. In some cases, at the discretion of the Selection Sub-committee, successful applicants may be offered mentoring assistance, from an experienced early learning professional, to further develop their presentation proposal and ensure that it aligns with the needs of conference attendees.
Please note: in 2018 group presentations are limited to four co-presenters (including lead presenter) in total.
Presenter payment and registration
Successful presentation proposals will receive one free conference registration (for the lead presenter), however, all co-presenters will be required to register and pay for the days they attend the conference. Please see the Presentation Proposal form more detail.
