Down Syndrome Victoria is hosting its annual education conference on Monday 16 March at Mantra Bell City Ballroom in Preston.

The keynote speaker, Teresa Iacono, will discuss her research around meaningful inclusion of students with a disability in schools, including designing reasonable adjustments for school inclusion.

Karen Underwood, from the Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) will discuss how DET has responded to the obligation that all students, without exception, have the right to participate in the curriculum and extra curricular activities in schools. Additionally, Kate Barakis will reflect on her educational experience as a person with Down syndrome.

Workshops will give participants practical information and strategies on a range of topics including the Working Relationship between Teacher and ESS. The day promises to be interesting and inspiring for anyone working in the inclusion and education sectors.
