Welcome to the first edition of eNews for Term four. I hope all our members and supporters managed to find some time to relax during the break after another COVID dominated term. With the handing down of the Australian Government’s 20/21 Budget on Tuesday night, ELAA recognises the Government’s continued efforts to maintain targeted and commensurate levels of support to Child Care service providers and the families they serve in a severely challenging economic climate, however, ELAA will continue to advocate to the government for additional reforms that support a long-term vision for early childhood education and care. More generally, it’s pleasing to see Victoria taking control of the virus, going from 725 reported cases on 5 August to just six cases yesterday.
