Great news for ELAA PolicyWorks users – we have undertaken a huge review of our very popular PolicyWorks 2019 V3 manual to improve accuracy, design, usability, readability, and applicability. We’re also changing the way we make the policy templates and updates available to give PolicyWorks users more value and flexibility.
We’ve done the research for you
As part of the review we consulted with current PolicyWorks users on their needs and each new template was reviewed by an Advisory Group made up of Early Years Manager representatives, individual service Committee of Management members, private and not-for-profit providers. We also consulted with relevant independent expert organisations including the Royal Children’s Hospital, the Victorian Department of Education and Training, Cancer Council Victoria and the Victorian Child Information Sharing Division. So you can feel confident that our policy templates reflect contemporary practice and meet legislative requirements*.
Flexible access
PolicyWorks is one of our most popular and trusted resources for service managers and Committees of a management. While we’re changing the way you can access and use PolicyWorks, one thing that won’t change is the quality and accuracy of the information. We will be moving away from the traditional ‘Manual’ package and instead we will be offering Policy Works as a ‘Catalogue’ of updated templates that users can purchase in packages. For more details see the ‘Flexible Pricing’ section below.
11 completely updated policy templates
Our advisory and editorial teams have completed full reviews of 11 existing PolicyWorks templates to create new, up-to-date versions of each. These new versions will be the first package in an entirely updated PolicyWorks ‘catalogue’ which will ultimately replace the PolicyWorks 2019 V3 Manual. The first 11 updated templates will be released periodically from May to September 2021 as follows:

- colour coded links to internal and external content
- easily editable templates so you can customise each policy to your service.

With each package users will able to access to a self-paced video training module on how to use the new PolicyWorks catalogue and how to customise each policy template for a perfect fit with your service. Each new template will also include:
- an introduction guide (info about the template and review process)
- version control guide that helps you managing multiple variations of a policy draft and how to keep a clear record of how a policy is created, developed and changed over time.

*Only ELAA members will be entitled to receive free minor updates to a template version. Non-members will not be entitled to free minor updates. Major updates to a template will result in a new version being published which will attract a new template version fee for members and non-members.
†Note: The PolicyWorks Manual 2019 V3 will no longer be updated and will be retired once all Policy Templates have been updated and migrated to the PolicyWorks ‘catalogue’. During the transitions current PolicyWorks users will still have access to PolicyWorks Manual 2019 via the My Membership tab on the ELAA website.
