16 JulOpportunity to trial new Early ABLES assessment tools extended to 19 July

Posted on 16 Jul 2019

The Department of Education and Training, in partnership with the University of Melbourne, has extended their invitation to participate in adapting and validating three new assessment tools (Movement, Thinking and Numeracy) that will become part of the Early ABLES suite. Interested early years professionals now have until 19 July to register.

Early ABLES is an online assessment for learning tool that supports educators in providing a more tailored learning experience for children aged two to five years with disabilities or developmental delay.

The trial consists of two components: a professional development session and the opportunity to use the new tools for children with additional learning needs at your service. Participants can attend one of three workshops (22, 25 or 30 July) to support the adaption and validation of the tools and assist others to complete assessments on return to their services.

Ethics approval (Department of Education and Training and University of Melbourne) has been granted for this project and backfill will be provided for participants.
