18 DecInvolving children in reportable conduct investigations
The Commission for Children and Young People has developed new resources for organisations to help include children in abuse investigations. Developed in partnership with Griffith University, the resource ensures that children’s right to be heard is taken seriously. The resource assists services to ask children the right questions in the right way to help keep children safe. The resources include:
- an animated video which addresses common myths
- a guide for interviewing children and taking a trauma-informed approach to investigations
- videos of mock interviews of children.
