Latest AHPPC Advice on venue density

The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) released updated advice on 25 May that it does not believe that the ‘venue density rule’ of no more than 1 person per 4 square metres is appropriate or practical in early childhood and learning centres, nor is maintaining 1.5m between children. Extra cleaning and hygiene funding for kinders is great but more needed

ELAA welcomes the Victorian Government’s announcement of new funding grants to assist funded kindergarten services with cleaning and hygiene costs in Term 2 but looks forward to the grant period being extended and expanded to a wider selection of early childhood education and care services. ELAA, in partnership with the Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) , is committed to ensure that Committees of Management continue to be supported during these challenging times. New Vic grant to help kindergarten children to learn from home

The Victorian Government is making extra resources available to kindergartens to help children learning at home during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. A total of $900,000 in grants will be provided for new programs and extra staffing at kindergartens not yet receiving funding through the $160 million School Readiness Funding initiative. (more…)

New approved provider compliance resource available for ELAA members

A resource is now available for ELAA members that outlines some of the areas of compliance that are impacted by COVID-19 and what approved providers may do to ensure they continue to meet their obligations during this time. These relate to areas including supervision, educator to child ratios, meal breaks  and more. (more…)
