Applications are now open for the 2023-2024 Early Childhood Provisionally Registered Teacher (PRT) Grants Program. The PRT Grants Program helps approved providers support PRTs to move to full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).

Funding available

A one-off change to the PRT Grants Program schedule was required in 2023-24 and only one grant round will be conducted. To reduce the impact of this change, the grant round features the following 2 funding streams:

  • Funding Stream A: Funding sought by approved providers to support one or more PRTs in their employ to move to full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) in the next 12 months.
  • Funding Stream B: Funding sought by approved providers as a reimbursement for costs incurred while supporting one or more ECTs in their employ (at a funded early childhood service) to move to full registration with the VIT between April 2023 and April 2024.

Approved providers can apply for funding in the 2023-24 PRT Grants Program through one or both funding streams in the same application form.

How to apply

Applications will only be accepted through the new application portal accessible here: https://www.secure-portal.com.au/prtgrant.

Approved providers must create an account in the application portal, then complete the application process.

Applications will close at 5 pm (AEST) on Friday, 17 May 2024.

A link to the application submission portal is also available on the program webpage: https://www.vic.gov.au/early-childhood-provisionally-registered-teacher-prt-grants-program.
