Do you work with incredible people you’d like to acknowledge? Is there an innovative early childhood program that deserves national recognition?

Nominations are now open for the 2024 HESTA Early Childhood Education & Care Awards. Three great prizes are up for grabs for exceptional early childhood educators and carers across Australia.

This year, the award categories are Advancing Pedagogy and Practice, Individual Leadership, and Outstanding Service. Each winner will receive $10,000, courtesy of ME Bank, for professional development or to improve services or processes in the workplace.

Last year’s winners included Balnarring Pre-School, Rachael Phillips from Birrelee Multifunctional Aboriginal Children’s Service, and Nazareth Early Childhood Centre.

In the Advancing Pedagogy and Practice category, Balnarring Pre-School was recognised for its nature program, which involves learning in, and with, natural environments.

As the winner in the Individual Leadership category, Rachael Phillips was acknowledged for her leadership in advancing education for First Nations children and advocating for more culturally appropriate early childhood settings.

And in the Outstanding Service category, Nazareth Early Childhood Centre took out the top prize for its focus on enhancing children’s development through a unique approach to literacy.

You ― or someone you know ― could be the next winner.

Nominations close on 16 June 2024, with finalists announced on 20 August 2024.

The prize for finalists includes registration to the Early Childhood Australia National Conference, plus an invitation to attend the HESTA Early Childhood Education & Care Awards dinner on 19 September 2024, including airfares and accommodation if required.Issued by H.E.S.T.
