75% of services recently visited by WorkSafe had at least one improvement notice issued, and these numbers are rising. Given these numbers, WorkSafe will continue the focus on the early childhood education and care sector.

Our session will inform you of your obligations to provide a safe environment for all those who visit or participate in your service:

  • educators
  • children
  • visitors
  • contractors

The session will cover:

  • employer obligations
  • consultation and what it means in the context of an Approved Provider
  • systems to support your obligations
  • the role of the ACECQA Risk Assessment Management Tool.

Presenter: Zora Marko

Zora has been with ELAA (and KPV) since 2007 and is the Project Manager for the Starting out Safely program. Zora was also the Project Manager of WorkSafe Early Child OH&S Champions Project. Zora holds a keen interest in occupational health and safety in children’s services and supporting the sector to find solutions to make the workplace safer. Zora represents the early childhood sector on a number of key OHS industry panels and is passionate about advocacy for the ECEC sector in this space. Zora has over 20 years’ senior experience in industrial relations.
