Starting from the Beginning: Employee Management Information


This self-paced module will provide new and ongoing Committee members with the knowledge and understanding of their roles and responsibilities of committees particularly in relation to managing employees.

It will provide you with a broad overview of all governance related responsibilities, drawing on content from Starting from the Beginning: Governance Information to ensure embedding of this information, before exploring in great depth how a committee can:

  • delegate some responsibilities relating to employee management
  • make decisions relating to their staff
  • recruit and induct new employees, including information about probationary periods
  • set up an employee management and development process

This session will also provide committees of management some insight into the Employee Management and Development Resource and explore basic HR and IR responsibilities.
