This session introduces educators to the basics of using technology as a tool to improve your practice and support young children’s learning and development. Learn how to lock down your iPad so that children can’t use the home button to get out of an app, or find ways to use technology to capture photos of children that don’t require so much of your time behind the camera. Questions will be answered, ideas will be shared and you’ll be guaranteed to come away with some new ideas and inspiration that will empower you when it comes to using technology in your practice.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Daniel Donahoo is a leading early years and technology practitioner and has a background in early childhood development. He has authored two books on child development, Idolising Children (2007) and Adproofing Your Kids (2009). Daniel delivers dynamic workshops providing the context of technology in children’s lives; giving guidance on the importance of offering judicious and appropriate play-based learning experiences using technology in early learning environments. He is regarded as a highly entertaining speaker and passionate storyteller when it comes to play, technology and learning, and is also the father of four boys aged 3 to 15 years.
