13 JulMentoring of provisionally registered teachers
Gowrie Victoria, on behalf of the Victorian Department of Education and Training, is offering mentoring to provisionally registered teachers (PRTs) to reach full teaching registration with the Victorian Institute of Teachers (VIT).
PRTs who have been unable to find a mentor are encouraged to apply to Gowrie to be matched with an experienced mentor. PRTs are guided through the process of reflecting on practice, gathering evidence of professional practice and support to complete their Inquiry Project.
The mentoring program lasts around three to five months and includes three onsite observation and reflection sessions as well as feedback in between sessions.
