About the Centre/Service The Kangaroo Ground Primary Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program is run as a service for families in the local community who require care and education for their children before and after school hours. The service is committed to maintaining a child-safe environment, which ensures children’s safety, health, and wellbeing. It aims to provide friendly, safe, well-supervised care and education with age-appropriate and stimulating activities for school-aged children and pre-school children.

Description

The role of the educator includes meeting and greeting families as they arrive, ensuring sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed, and delivering a range of planned activities for children. Outside School Hours Care includes sports and physical activities, as well as artistic and creative activities. The educator must also ensure that children are adequately supervised at all times.

The educator is required to follow policies and procedures for children’s health, safety, and welfare. 

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work additional casual hours at the preschool next door to the OSHC service.
Qualifications
  • An ability to deliver stimulating and fun activities for children in a safe and secure environment.
  • HLTAID001 (CPR) as a minimum.
  • Enrolment in or completion of a qualification, in accordance with the National Quality Framework (ACECQA, 2012). (Certificate III as a minimum)
  • A previous involvement with, and understanding of, children’s activities.
  • Willingness to undertake training to recognize signs and symptoms of child abuse or neglect and respond according to the legislation
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to supervise and encourage children to have fun within a safe environment.
Requirements WWCC
Additional Requirements Must be enrolled for Certificate III in Education and Care or finished that certificate as a minimum.
