Posted on 02 May 2023

ELAA is asking the early childhood sector to share this important survey, Characterising the use of Specialty harnesses and vests by children in motor vehicles in Australia & New Zealand (ChareS), with families of children with disabilities and medical conditions.

Does your child use a speciality harness/vest when travelling in a motor vehicle?

Mobility and Accessibility for Children in Australia Ltd (MACA) is seeking your valuable feedback. MACA is a registered charity dedicated to advancing the rights of children with disabilities and medical conditions to safe and accessible transport.

Please complete this 10-15-minute survey to share your family’s experience of using these products and go in the draw to win one of ten $100 vouchers. The survey is part of a two-year research project to improve knowledge about harnesses and vests, and how they are used. The outcomes of this work will help to develop information and recommendations to guide harness/vest use for children.

MACA is leading this Austroads project (2022-2024), in partnership with The George Institute for Global Health, and the study has been approved by the UNSW Human Research Ethics Committee (HC220818). MACA is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to advancing the rights of children with disabilities and medical conditions to safe and accessible transport.
