About the Centre/Service
Wellington Preschool is a not-for-profit organisation that operates out of the new Wellington Hub Child and Family Centre. The new state-of-the-art facility includes two kindergarten rooms within a beautiful modern and natural setting. We offer 3-year-old and 4-year-old programs, both with long and short day options to offer flexibility for parents and families.
This newly created position will be for 15 hours per week spread over 3 days. This exciting opportunity is for someone to take ownership of the administrative duties to support a high-quality early learning centre

Description
About the role
The administration Officer is responsible for working closely with the Centre Director, Leadership team and Committee of Management (employer) to provide efficient, accurate, timely and effective administration to support the day-to-day operation of the centre.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Assist the Committee of Management with the efficient administration of the service in accordance with all applicable legislation including the Education and Care Services National Law and Education and Care Services National Regulations
- Ensure that Wellington Kindergarten meets the requirements of the Department of Education and Training (DET) Kindergarten Funding Guide; Education and Care Services National Law (National Law); Education and Care Services National Regulations (Regulations) and functions in line with approved policies, procedures and the Quality Improvement Plan
- Responding to emails, parent enquiries, phone calls, welcoming of all families & community members with courtesy and respect
- Liaise with existing and new families with respect, developing trust and maintaining confidentiality
- Supporting the end-to-end enrolment process including waitlist and attendance information and offers of enrolments
- Manage the advertising and social media presence by frequently updating the kindergarten social media accounts (Facebook Instagram)
- Apply for DET Grants and Council grants as applicable
- Lead the fundraising events with support from the Committee, Wellington Kindergarten families and friends
- Attend workshops and professional development approved by the Committee of Management
- Keep all policies and procedures up to date with the support of ELAA, and keeping a file accessible to the kindergarten (soft and hard copy)
- Ensure confidentiality of records and information

Qualifications
Qualifications & experience
- Current Working with Children’s Check (or ability to obtain)
- Have a sound understanding and knowledge of early childhood development and education
- Have a sound understanding and knowledge of legislation, regulations, and standards, including Child Safe Standards governing the operation of children’s services as well as a solid understanding of the quality areas under the National Quality Standard
- Ability to prepare budgets, reconciliations, and day-to-day financial management of the service.
- Have experience in a similar role, with strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, willingness to learn.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Ability to interact with children and families in a positive, sensitive and respectful manner
- Proven well developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills coupled with a strong customer service focus
- Highly organised with proven experience managing a wide range of demands and priorities to produce work of high quality and consistently meet deadlines.
- Experience with HubHello software (previous experience highly regarded)
