As one of ten Jobs and Skills councils funded by the Commonwealth Government, HumanAbility is tasked with advancing workforce capability, including professional development, in health and human services, aged and disability support, sport and recreation, and early childhood education. ELAA’s Policy and Stakeholder Relations Specialist has been appointed to the Industry Advisory Committee for Children’s Education and Care.

HumanAbility is responsible to ensure the care, support, and recreation industries are supported with skilled, adaptable and sustainable workforces to achieve positive economic and social outcomes for industry, community and individuals. HumanAbility’s four key functions are:

• workforce planning
• training product development
• implementation, promotion and monitoring
• industry stewardship.

The Industry Advisory Committee for Children’s Education and Care met on 20 October for an orientation session. This was an opportunity for committee members to discuss the draft report Shortfalls and Skills Gaps – Navigating Workforce Pressures developed by HumanAbility.

ELAA is excited for this opportunity to represent our members and advocate for the Early Childhood Education and Care sector at a national level. CLICK HERE to learn more about HumanAbility.
