About the Centre/Service MEYM is looking for a dynamic, innovative and experienced Early Years Area Manager with demonstrated business knowledge to lead and manage the area of MEYM Early Childhood Services in the delivery of high quality services of excellence for children and families. The Area Manager is responsible for leading a team in the provision of quality care and education services across the seven MEYM centre locations all of which are located in Merri-bek. You will be required to guide the team of Service Coordinators, teachers and educators to ensure the operational functions of the organisation are met and to drive quality program delivery and innovation for children and their families. You will be required to make sound decisions independently and be required to work closely with your team and the General Manager to ensure all staff meet the requirements of their Position Descriptions and develop their skills to deliver high quality contemporary early childhood services. Description THE AREA MANAGER ROLE We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and experienced Early Years Area Manager with demonstrated business experience to lead and manage seven MEYM Early Childhood Services in the delivery of high quality services of excellence for children and families. The Area Manager is responsible for leading a team in the provision of quality care and education services across the seven MEYM centre locations all of which are located in Merri-bek. You will be required to guide the team of Service Coordinators, teachers and educators to ensure the operational functions of the organisation are met and to drive quality program delivery and innovation for children and their families. You will be required to make sound decisions independently and be required to work closely with your team and the General Manager to ensure all staff meet the requirements of their Position Descriptions and develop their skills to deliver high quality contemporary early childhood services. You will be responsible for ensuring program delivery forecasts are met and that quality indicators of impact are achieved. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • The ability to effectively manage and lead teams through the development of professional relationships and a value driven culture
  • To ensure the delivery of centre programs and assessments are of the highest quality and are responsive and inclusive to community needs
  • To assist in the development of service budgets, monitor their delivery and provide periodic reporting
  • To ensure services are compliant with all regulatory requirements including internal operational policies and WH&S standards
  • To develop collaborative partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Recruitment and placement of centre based early childhood professionals.
  • Collaborate with the Pedagogical Leader to determine areas of innovation and service development.
  • To manage HR components within the services
  • Manage other projects as allocated.
Qualifications Bachelor in Early Childhood or equivalent experience in a relevant field. Must have strong leadership and management skills

Additional Requirements The successful applicant must possess and address the key selection criteria and responsibilities as outlined in this advertisement when submitting their application. Due to the travel requirements for this role, applicants must hold a current Victorian driver's license, as well as a valid Police Check and Working with Children Check. A Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood is desirable but equivalent qualifications and experience will be considered.
