About the Centre/Service For over 90 years, Robina Scott Kindergarten has enriched the lives of many local children in Williamstown and the Hobsons Bay Community. A not-for-profit community run kindergarten, we operate two beautiful campuses for 3 and 4 yr old sessional kindergarten in Williamstown, both of which are rated Exceeding by ACECQA. We provide high quality education and care to over 180 children in the local community and are a highly sought-after kindergarten. We pride ourselves on our connection to the local community and can regularly be seen on excursions around the local area. Robina Scott Kindergarten's vision is to "empower children to realise their potential". Our Educators provide high quality educational programs that aim to give each child a broad and rounded experience. Our programs cater for the whole child, including all areas of learning and development. Description

Robina Scott Kindergarten is seeking qualified Early Childhood Professionals who believes that the first few years of early education are fundamental in preparing a child with the skills necessary to becoming a lifelong learner. The applicant’s passion for early childhood education and ability to help each child discover their full potential, will put them in good stead for this position.  

The successful applicant will contribute to developing an environment of positive and trusting relationships with the children, other teachers and educators, parents, the Service Leader and Education Leader and other stakeholders. They will assist in the day to day delivery of the program at the direction of permanent staff.

Successful casual staff will be offered short term contracts and ongoing cover opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Diploma/Certificate III/ECT qualification suitable for an early childhood educator under the Education and Care Services National Law. Education and Care Services National Regulations and the DET Kindergarten Funding Guide 
  • Mandatory Reporting Certificate 
  • Working with Children Check 
  • Police check 
Requirements VIT Registration
Additional Requirements An understanding and knowledge of early childhood development relevant to their level of qualification and position. An understanding of the Child Safe Standards and the steps required to report a suspected case of child abuse Ability to assist in the provision of a developmentally appropriate program for the children in partnership with the early childhood teacher and parents. Reasonable knowledge and understanding of the National Law and Regulations. Have a sound understanding and knowledge of early childhood development and education. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with children, the committee of management (employer), parents, other staff and professionals.
