17 JunVECTEA 2024: issue your Notice of Employee Representational Rights by 30 June (extended deadline)

Posted on 17 Jun 2024

As a VECTEA 2024 Employer Signatory, it’s important to issue your Notice of Employee Representational Rights by Sunday, 30 June 2024.

What is the Notice?

The Fair Work Act requires employers to notify their employees when beginning negotiations for a new workplace agreement, also known as an enterprise agreement. This means that whenever an employer plans to modify or establish new terms and conditions of employment, they must first inform all affected employees about the upcoming bargaining process.

As a VECTEA employer, it is crucial to inform your employees about the following:

  • your organisation is a signatory to a new enterprise agreement (the VECTEA 2024) that the Early Learning Association Australia (ELAA) is negotiating
  • the proposed coverage of the agreement
  • all employees have the right to be represented in negotiations by their employee organisation (union) or to appoint another representative of their choice. They must also know how to exercise these rights.

ELAA members who are VECTEA 2024 signatories can download this notice and complete the required declaration here.

You will need your ELAA member number and password to log in.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with us by email at: vectea@elaa.org.au.
