THRIVE: Inspiring Sustained Excellence in Early Childhood Education and Care
May 15 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm AEST
ELAA is bringing the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector together for a one-day, face-to-face event in 2024.
With our theme, THRIVE: Inspiring Sustained Excellence in Early Childhood Education and Care, the event will bring the ECEC sector together in Victoria to not just ‘survive’ but THRIVE when facing a time of transformational change.
THRIVE will focus on workforce sustainability, Pre-prep rollout, and achieving excellence and equity in Early Childhood Education and Care through in-depth discussions on how we can collaborate to build and sustain a larger workforce when facing new reforms, and how we can go above and beyond national standards and succeed as a sector.
Topics and speakers include:
Government perspectives: we are joined by representatives from the Victorian Department of Education and the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA), and you will be able to ask questions about the National Quality Framework and Victorian ECEC polices.
- Bronwen FitzGerald – Deputy Secretary, Early Childhood Education, Victorian Department of Education
- Greg Norton – Executive Director, Quality Assessment and Regulation Division, Victorian Department of Education
- Rhonda Livingstone – National Education Leader and General Manager, Leadership, Quality and Regulatory Support, ACECQA
Improving outcomes through effective use of evidence: providing an opportunity to explore evidence-based resources recently published by the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) related to family engagement, belonging and connectedness, and discuss how best to support sustainable improvements in practice.
- Dr Zid Mancenido – Senior Manager, Research and Evaluation, Australian Education Research Organisation
And much more.
There will be time for open discussions with fellow members, government representatives and ELAA. THRIVE will explore strategies, innovations, and best practices through research and collaboration.
The day will end with an hour of networking and conversation, where you can share your thoughts and ideas with ELAA partners, ELAA staff and other ELAA members.
