Wellbeing matters to everyone. From systems and processes at organisational and management level, to the self-care and wellbeing of those building relationships with children and families, we all know wellbeing matters in early childhood.

This innovative and new approach to professional learning and development brings together Approved Providers, managers, directors, co-ordinators and all other professionals from your service and advocates for wellbeing to be a collaborative effort.

Hear stories of the innovative lived experience of an Early Childhood leader working in a setting and then participate in a session run by sector experts specifically targeted to your role at the service. Finish the day together workshopping the day’s learning then take your new knowledge away and implement it in a meaningful way at your setting. This session is for everyone who cares about, wants to learn more, and is committed to enhancing the wellbeing of everyone in their service.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Dr Lyn O’Grady

Lyn’s work history has included roles within the education, health and community sectors.  She has worked with parents in parenting programs and individually at the community level and in schools for over 20 years. Lyn also worked as a school psychologist in the Western Metropolitan Region of Melbourne. She is a supervisor of Psychology Interns. At a more systemic level, she previously worked as the National Project Manager for KidsMatter at the Australian Psychological Society.

Chris Azzam – WorkSafe

WorkSafe is the Victorian health and safety regulator and manager of the Victorian Workers Compensation scheme.

For over 30 years Worksafe has worked with employers to create safer workplaces. As workplaces are rapidly changing, WorkSafe is focusing on educating Victorians on rising issues such as mental health, bullying, and occupational violence and help create healthier and safe workplaces.

Jenny Whelan

Jenny is the Director of Albert Park Kindergarten. Albert Park’s philosophy celebrates the ‘incredible marvel of being human’ and believes in ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone who comes in contact with the centre. They have created a Wellbeing Officer role both on staff and Committee of Management. They have established a wellbeing sub-committee made up of employees, management, community health professionals and parent representatives to oversee their ‘Wellbeing for All’ policy and initiatives. Their work was recognised as a Finalist in the 2016 WorkSafe Awards in the Commitment to Health & Wellbeing category and their organisation is currently pursuing gold status as a mentally healthy workplace under the Mental Health First Aid accreditation.
