About the Centre/Service
J.S Grey is a vibrant and diverse sessional kindergarten seeking a dedicated and experienced Centre Manager to lead our team and ensure the delivery of high-quality early childhood education. Located in Preston, we are a parent-managed, not-for-profit kindergarten, that has empowered and nurtured the children of Darebin for over 30 years.
We run a play-based program where children are given the opportunity to move through educational experiences, play and physical activities in a safe and nurturing environment. The program provides challenges and opportunities for positive and successful experiences to develop self-confidence, positive self-image and independence. Our programs include 3YO & 4YO Sessional Kindergarten, Bush Kinder, and After Kinder Care.

About the Role:
As the Centre Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of our kindergarten program, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. You will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and collaborative team environment, building strong relationships with families, and advocating for the needs of our children.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership and guidance to the kindergarten team.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the centre and the delivery of a high-quality, play-based educational program that meets the needs of all children.
- Support educators in the implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Oversee the relationships with the children and their families, the public, regulatory bodies and other relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and funding requirements.
- Manage the annual budget and financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities and complete applications for grants.
- Manage enrolment processes and maintain accurate records.
- Manage risk assessments and ensure a safe environment for children and staff.
- Organize and participate in community events and activities.
- Work with the kindergarten committee of management.
Qualifications
What you will bring:
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
- Valid VIT registration
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a community-based kindergarten.
- Sound knowledge of the EYLF, relevant legislation and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with staff, families, and the community.
- First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training
