About the Centre/Service Clifton Street Children’s Centre (CSCC) is a not-for-profit, community-managed long day care and kindergarten located in the heart of Northcote, Melbourne. We provide high-quality early education and care for children aged 6 months to 5 years, with a strong commitment to accessibility and community engagement. As an 81-place centre with four well designed learning spaces and three outdoor yards, we are situated next to expansive ovals and green spaces that enhance our programs. Work Days of the Role Monday - Friday
Hours of Work of the Role 8 hours/day
Description We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Educator (Certificate III or Diploma qualified) to join our team. With the benefit of above-ratio staffing, you will be responsible for observing, programming, and evaluating children’s learning to support their individual developmental outcomes. You will receive mentorship from an experienced Educational Leader, team leader, and the broader leadership team. Additionally, there are rich opportunities for ongoing professional growth, including:
  • Two annual professional development days
  • Team meetings
  • External training and workshops from specialists and consultants
This role is offered under the Professional Community Standard 2025, which includes excellent working conditions, paid overtime, RDOs, and access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). You will also be supported by our active, parent-run Committee of Management. We are looking for someone who:
  • Is passionate about delivering high-quality early childhood education and care
  • Has excellent communication skills and can produce clear, accurate documentation aligned with compliance and best practice
  • Is committed to continuous quality improvement
  • Builds and maintains positive, respectful relationships with families and colleagues
  • Has experience working with children from 6 months to school age
Qualifications Essential Requirements:
  • Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting)
