About the Centre/Service Oakleigh Grammar is an independent co-educational Christian school educating children from Early Learning through to Year 12. Our campus is located in the inner south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne in the vibrant multicultural suburb of Oakleigh. Our ELC curriculum is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy for early childhood education. At the heart of this philosophy is the belief that children are full of creativity and curiosity, and this is cultivated within and from children’s ideas and observations.
Work Days of the Role Monday to Friday
Description This role will be a member of the Executive Leadership team. It will provide an excellent opportunity for a confident, passionate and proactive leader to make their mark on our highly sought after ELC. At the heart of the role, the successful candidate will demonstrate leadership and support our passionate educators in order to inspire our children to flourish in our highly nurturing and caring early childhood facility.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Years Education or recognised equivalent
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of the developmental needs of children two to five years of age, including children with additional needs, with demonstrated experience in this age group
  • Experience in leading and managing staff
  • Current Early Years registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
  • Extensive knowledge of Child Protection Safety and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • Senior First Aid training as prescribed in the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010
  • Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training as prescribed in the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010.
