About the Centre/Service Norfolk Street Child Care Centre (NSCCC) is a not-for-profit 66 place centre, offering care to the local community since 1976. NSCCC offers care and educational programs for children aged 3 months to 5 years. NSCCC is a community-based centre operated by a Management Committee, committed to building and maintaining supportive trusting relationships with children and families and ensuring a provision of high-quality care.

  Your Role:  Norfolk Street Child Care Association Incorporated is seeking an experienced and dedicated Certificate III or Diploma qualified educator to join an established and experienced team. Your role includes but not limited to:
  • Providing high-quality care and education to children.
  • Delivering meaningful educational programs that are reflective of the children.
  • Contributing to a collaborative teaching environment.
  • Designing a warm, safe, and stimulating interactive learning environment.
  • Observing, recording, and assessing and children's development.
  • Maintaining positive working relationships with the families and other members of our team.
  • Maintain high level of organisation and time management.
  • Maintaining effective communication with the families and other members of our team.
  • Ensuring that a high level of health & safety standards is always maintained.
   Key Selection Criteria  To be successful in this role, you will:
  1. Hold an Early Childhood Qualification – minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care
  2. Hold a current Working With Children Check.
  3. Hold a current first aid qualification (HLTAID004).
  4. Have knowledge and understanding of key guiding documents in Early Childhood including but not limited to; Education & Care Services National Law Act 2010, Education & Care Services National Regulations 2011, National Quality Standards, EYLF, VEYLDF, Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics
  5. Have an understanding and commitment to work in line with NSCCC values and practices, a positive attitude and strong commitment towards the provision of high-quality care and education of children attending the Centre.
  6. Have the ability to develop trusting, supportive and positive relationships with all families and staff.
  7. Have the ability to work effectively with the Room Leader, Co educators, Assistant Manager, Educational Leader, Centre Manager and Management Committee.
  8. Demonstrate an awareness of the individual needs and values of families from a variety of backgrounds, including families of children with additional needs, maintaining confidentiality and non-judgmental attitudes.
  9. Have an ability to demonstrate understanding of and participate in centre educational program and practice.
  10. Have well-developed interpersonal skills and communication skills.
