About the Centre/Service
Paratea Preschool is a vibrant not for profit community kindergarten located in natural bushland of Paratea Reserve in Frankston South. Our service is managed by a Parent Committee of Management and offers both 4 year old and 3 year old sessional kindergarten programs for children in our community. We have a team of dedicated staff who work collaboratively providing play based programs inspired by children's needs and interests. The Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework underpins our play-based programs, where, within this environment, our Educators will empower and support children’s sense of identity, community, well-being, learning and communication.
Our Kindergarten is a Child Safe environment and we support cultural diversity. Our curriculum incorporates indigenous perspectives, music, art, language, sustainability, gender equity, numeracy and literacy. Environmental issues are an integral part of the day-to-day learning as we help children understand their responsibility to their world.
Our 3 year old and 4 year old program incorporates a Bush Kinder program (May-Nov) learning on country in the Paratea Reserve that surrounds our kindergarten.
Statement of Commitment to Child Safety:
We are committed to child safety. We want children to be safe, happy and empowered and have zero tolerance for child abuse, discrimination or racism. We understand our legal and moral obligations to treat all concerns seriously and to report allegations and concerns about a child/ren’s safety and wellbeing to authorities. We are committed to the cultural safety of all children including Aboriginal children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and to providing a safe environment for children with a disability.
