About the Centre/Service About Pinemont Pre-School: Pinemont Preschool is a long standing and well-established community pre-school, governed by a dedicated parent-based Committee of Management. We are a well-resourced and innovative sessional kindergarten that takes pride in delivering a high standard early years program and have been rated ‘Exceeding’ in all the National Quality Standards. Description ***Appropriate candidates will be interviewed upon application. Applications will close on Friday 22nd November or sooner if a candidate is appointed. ***   The Opportunity: Commencing Term 1 2025, we have an exciting opportunity for an inspiring and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to take on the role of Lead Teacher within our 3 year old group. Within this role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of a high quality, developmentally appropriate program, reporting directly to the Director. You will provide leadership of other staff, while working as a member of a co-operative team, to ensure a consistent and collaborative approach in delivering a high quality program. Responsibilities and Duties:
  • To be responsible for the preparation, implementation and evaluation of a developmentally appropriate program which reflects the centre’s philosophy for the individual children or groups of children in the centre
  • To communicate with parent and carers around the development of their child, respecting confidentiality of information relating to staff, parents and children at all times.
  • To lead and supervise staff, while working collaboratively in a team, to ensure the delivery of a high quality program and practices.
  • Ensure a safe environment is maintained for both staff and children, reporting to the Director of the service
Contact hours: Wednesday – 9am – 4:15pm (start and finish times are negotiable)
  • Contact time: 12:30pm to 2pm (lunch time cover). All other hours of this day are non-contact time.
Thursday – 8am – 4:30pm with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break within this time. Friday – 8am – 4:30pm with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break within this time. Total hours – 15.5 hours contact, 7.75 hours non-contact. Selection Criteria

Qualifications The desired candidate will:
  • Hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent, as well as a current VIT registration
  • Be an experienced Early Childhood Teacher who has previous experience working within a sessional kindergarten setting
  • Have a passion for working in Early Education, along with an ability to clearly and positively communicate and connect with children, parents and colleagues
  • Possess the ability to work effectively with other Early Childhood Teachers and Co-Educators to deliver a high-quality learning program, while creating a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Demonstrate understanding and patience in addressing diverse needs and behaviours of young children
  • Have a strong understanding of Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
  • Obtain the following:
    • First Aid training
    • Emergency asthma management qualification
    • Management of anaphylaxis qualification
    • Valid Working with Children Check (Employee) and Mandatory Reporting
