About the Centre/Service Acacia Children’s Centres (Acacia Richmond) is community based and non-for-profit organisation, run by Committee of Management who are volunteer parents of the children attending Acacia. Acacia – Richmond is a long day childcare centre with integrated kindergarten that has been operating since 1982. Our centre is a 42-place service with 3 rooms including a Babies, Toddlers and Kinder room. Kindergarten program is delivered on daily basis from 9.00am to 4:00pm. We value family involvement and a key aspect to our philosophy is play based learning.

Description We are seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing, reliable and like-minded educator to join our  Baby room as full-time permanent employee. The ideal candidate will be passionate about child's development, and bring fresh and innovative ideas to the program, working along Diploma Qualified Educator and eight children 0-2 year of age. We provide an open-ended play-based learning environment, which is focusing on children’s individual interests, strengths and needs. We provide many opportunities for children to discover and explore through play in an unhurried and relaxed manner. Children are given a voice and the power to make decisions regarding their play and social interactions.
Qualifications The successful candidate must have:
  • Previous experience as a Diploma Trained Educator in a 1-2 years room within an early childhood service.
  • Applicant must hold a Diploma in Early Childhood, Working with Children Check, First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Training. Sound understanding of the NQF, EYLF, Education and Care National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).

Additional Requirements The position is full time, 38 hours per week . The successful applicant will be remunerated above the Children’s Services Award 2010.
