About the Centre/Service Beechworth Kindergarten is a small, independent, volunteer-committee lead service that has offered sessional kindergarten programs for 3 and 4 year olds in Beechworth and the surrounding region for almost 60 years.

Description OVERVIEW Position: Early Childhood Educator Location: Beechworth Kindergarten Contract Type: Short Term Fixed Contract Period of Employment: Commences 21st July, 2025 and concludes 16th December, 2025 (Terms 3-4 duration in total) Pay Grade: Classification under VECTEA 2020 (or 2024 once confirmed) Hours: 15hrs/wk Arrangement of Hours:

  POSITION DESCRIPTION Early childhood educators at Beechworth Kindergarten facilitate the implementation of an approved learning framework (lead by the teacher), and support children's wellbeing, learning, engagement and development.   Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Facilitate the delivery of high quality early childhood education in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Victorian Early Years and Learning Framework (VEYLF)
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, adaptable and supportive learning environment that is inclusive, respectful and flexible to the diverse needs of individuals
  • Use current research and innovative practice to stimulate, engage and enhance children’s learning and development, including supporting the children to be active participants in their own learning
  • Deliver a program that reflects the natural environment and promotes sustainability
  • Maintain knowledge of individual children and learning styles so that approaches can be differentiated to meet the complex needs of children from a range of backgrounds and abilities
  • Report to the Teacher (nominated person in charge), Educational Leader and Committee of Management
  • Collaborate closely with the Educational Leader and all members of the teaching staff
  • Participate in continuing professional development 
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with students, staff and families; including demonstrating transparent, effective and efficient communication
  • Adhere to organisational policies, procedures and codes of conduct
