About the Centre/Service
Mount Pleasant Road is an incredible kindergarten integrated within a Government school in Nunawading and rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards. Our wonderful team is committed to providing the highest quality educational programs through a play-based curriculum, allowing independent choices and individual development that educates the whole child.
We are a double unit kindergarten, delivering funded Three and Four-year-old Education to 88 children over four classes per week in 2024. The kindergarten creates a strong sense of belonging within a safe atmosphere, affording children in becoming confident individuals and in developing lifelong learning.
The kindergarten environment comprises of a renovated outdoor learning environment, with a purposeful design and pedagogically inspiring landscape, filled with multi-sensory and natural elements. We have access to the school grounds and engage seamlessly in community events. Our indoor environments intentionally comprise of an abundance of natural items, plants and active lighting and we have a generous budget directed towards the availability of resources and opportunities for each child’s learning.
Work Days of the Role
Monday's and Wednesdays, 8:00 am- 4:45 pm and planning time on a Friday (Planning day can be negotiated), all as per VECTEA.

Description
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to join our progressive and professional team as we deliver a high-quality, play-based program for one Four-year-old class. This role is Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:45 am- 4:30 pm and planning time on a Friday (Planning day can be negotiated), all as per VECTEA.
This is an opportunity for someone experienced, who can build strong relationships with children and families, work within a Reggio lens and has a flexible and an adaptive approach to teaching within a progressive framework.
As a teacher, you will demonstrate independence and initiative in supporting children in all areas of development and learning, have strong communication skills, model growth mindset practices and have an intrinsic desire to Teach pre-school aged children . We encourage teachers with experience in implementing play-based learning, inclusive practice, a Reggio approach and robust conceptual and inquiry learning approaches to apply for this role.
First aid training will be provided early 2025.
Qualifications
It is expected that you will hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent) and have current VIT registration.
