About the Centre/Service
Brighton Street Early Learning (Brighton Street) is a new purpose-built centre located at 68 Brighton Street Richmond. The centre will be open for children from 7.00am to 6.30pm and will provide long day care services to 118 children from the local and surrounding areas.
Brighton Street Early Learning’s curriculum draws on the best early education philosophies, including play-based learning and the Reggio Emilia approach. Our education program recognises each individual child’s needs, their different developmental stages and varied interests and we will work with your child to ensure that their needs are met with the appropriate education curriculum. Description
Day to day, you will:
- Follow, guide and support your Room leader and support your fellow educators in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Early Years Curriculum based on the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards
- Ensure supervision of the children at all times
- Ensure children’s medication is administered
- Work with other educators within the service to enhance overall centre learning and practice
- Aid children's understanding and the setting up, cleaning down and facilitation of activities
- Ensure your room and the overall centre is clean and tidy and a welcoming, warm, safe place for our children to be at all times
- Actively participate in room meetings, team meetings, supervision and seek appropriate training and professional development
- Undertake other activities as required
Qualifications
To apply you must hold:
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or currently studying towards)
- Current Working with Children's Check
- Current first aid, anaphylaxis, asthma and CPR qualifications (note – Brighton Street will also complete a Criminal History Check)
- Experience working within an early childhood setting
- A creative, kind, warm and cooperative team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A passion to work with children
- A positive approach to supporting children and their families
- An intention to work and learn at Brighton Street for a meaningful period of time.
