A traineeship could be the solution.

The Jobs Victoria Early Childhood Educators traineeship program, led by Chisholm Institute, prioritises early childhood services in Victoria (that offer funded kindergarten programs) with the opportunity to engage one or more trainees to support you with affordable staffing next year.

There are new and improved incentives to make trainees the ideal option:

  • services can receive up to $12,000 (max of $1,500 per quarter) in wage subsidies per trainee over the duration of time it takes a trainee to complete their Certificate III (maximum of two years) under the Commonwealth’s Australian Apprenticeships Incentive System (AAIS). Eligible regional and remote based services can receive an additional top up wage subsidy of five per cent per trainee under the Commonwealth’s Regional Apprenticeship Boost scheme
  • $4,000 cash back to services for the time needed to supervise and mentor trainees
  • ongoing mentoring, professional development and training for your existing workforce to upskill them in working with trainees
  • program support to enable you to provide adequate supervision and mentoring to trainees on-the-job.

Chisholm will find job-ready trainees for you, so you won’t need to do any advertising. The trainees will undertake the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care to enhance their learning and provide you with a soon-to-be-qualified educator.

Trainees gain practical skills and a nationally recognised qualification while working in your centre, solving your staff needs and contributing valuable skills to your workplace.
