Be You: growing a mentally healthy generation while looking after your wellbeing

In the early childhood education and care sector, wellbeing extends beyond individual health to encompass a broader, collective responsibility. Everyone involved in the early learning service plays a crucial role in fostering a space where educator wellbeing is actively promoted and integrated into daily practices.

Do you know, there is a fantastic platform dedicated to enhancing mental health and wellbeing in the educational community? Delivered by Beyond Blue in collaboration with Early Childhood Australia and headspace, Be You is a resource-rich platform that equips educators with the necessary knowledge, tools, and strategies to create supportive, inclusive, and adaptable learning environments.

ELAA Member Solutions Team’s Favourite Wellbeing Activities

The Member Solutions team at ELAA have shared their favourite self-care and wellbeing activities. You may like to adapt some of these activities to help educators manage stress, build resilience, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Erin: Prioritising activities that bring me peace, while balancing work, life commitments

Loredana: likes to ground herself with Mother Earth, draw from her energy to recharge and rebalance

Corinne: walk outside and 10-minute yoga

Georgie: when feeling stressed or overwhelmed, Georgie likes to sometimes rewatch her dance routines (when she can’t physically practice them), as dancing feeds her soul, it is her happy place and reminds her of the sense of joy she feels when dancing.

Leanne: daily meditation and gratitude journal with a cup of herbal tea.
