Australian Parents for Climate Action was started in 2019 by six mums who wanted their kids to grow up in a safe climate. We have grown rapidly since then to 17,000 supporters, and have successfully won $71 million in government funding to get rooftop solar and batteries for schools through our Solar Our Schools campaign.

Now we want to do the same for Early Childhood Education and Care services (ECEC). Solar and batteries can insulate services from ever-increasing power bills and protect them from power interruptions.

We believe ECEC services have better things to spend money on than power bills and should be able to keep air conditioners and fridges running during power outages.

We’re developing a report to get attention and action from media and decision makers, but we need real-life examples to make it more compelling! So if your service:

  • faces financial challenges due to increasing energy prices
  • or benefits from having rooftop solar
  • or wishes it could take advantage of those benefits, but faces obstacles

… then we’d love to hear from you! Even a sentence or two helps us make these issues real for journalists and decision makers, but if you have more to say we’re all ears and will of course anonymise any information if requested.
