The first free ELAA forum is one specifically for the ECEC sector where you will hear from WorkSafe about their latest initiatives on manual handling.

They will speak about their ‘Manual Handling Basics’ program, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and have your say in relation to the sector’s issues concerning manual handling.

Zora Marko, ELAA OHS Co-Ordinator, will be moderating this session.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Jade Liston, Senior Ergonomist

MESH, BCom

Jade is a Senior Ergonomist at WorkSafe Victoria and is an inspector appointed under the Occupational Health and Safety Act Vic. Her main role focuses on providing specialist advice in relation to hazardous manual handling, human factors, and systems thinking to support inspectors and health and safety projects. Jade has recently completed her Master’s in Ergonomics, Safety, and Health at La Trobe University and has written a thesis where she applied systems thinking methodologies to identify OHS gaps in hybrid working. Prior to this, Jade was working as a Program Officer at WorkSafe Victoria where she developed and implemented health and safety projects focused on driving awareness to employers about their OHS obligations in relation to hazardous manual handling and reducing the risk of musculoskeletal disorders.

 

Zora Marko, ELAA OHS Co-ordinator and Project Manager, Road Safety Education

Zora has been with ELAA (formerly KPV) since 2007 and is the Safety Coordinator at  ELAA, covering Occupational Health and Safety and Starting Out Safely, Victoria’s early childhood road safety education program delivered on behalf of the Transport Accident Commission.   Zora was previously the Project Manager of WorkSafe’s Early Child OH&S Champions Project.  Zora holds qualifications in OHS and has an extensive background in children’s services and supports the sector to find solutions to make their workplaces safer.    Zora represents the early childhood sector on a number of key OHS industry stakeholder groups and is passionate about advocacy for the ECEC sector in this space.  Zora also has over 20 years of senior experience in industrial relations.
