03 JulELAA’s Road Safety Education Inquiry Project features in FDCA’s ‘Jigsaw Magazine’
Early Learning Association Australia’s (ELAA) Road Safety Education Team were recently featured in Family Day Care Australia’s (FDCA) ‘Jigsaw Magazine’.
ELAA, in collaboration with the TAC for the Starting Out Safety program, invited Baw Baw Family Day Care to be the very first family day care service o participate in their Starting Out Safely – Road Safety Education (RSE) Inquiry Project.
The ‘Jigsaw’ article talks about how the Baw Baw Shire educators created learning environments to gauge children’s understanding of road safety concepts and how the children shared their knowledge. The Educators discovered that their focus had to encompass all aspects of road safety and they needed to come up with an idea to cover their findings so they came up with the idea to write a book – the perfect vehicle (pun intended!) to inspire collaboration between educators, children, families, and community partners to promote children becoming safe and active citizens in their community.
