The Skilling an Adaptable Early Childhood Education and Care Workforce (SAEW) Project has now been live for over 12 months, supporting more than 850 learners in strengthening their professional skills by providing educators with flexible and practical training opportunities.

The SAEW Project offers 13 In-Depth eLearning modules (30-90 minutes) and 20 Focused modules (5-10 minutes) for time-constrained educators. Some of the most popular modules include:

  • Embedding the Child Safe Standards
  • Supporting Children with Additional Needs
  • Routines and Rituals
  • The Arts in Early Childhood
  • Running a Group Time

Feedback from participants undertaking these modules have been overwhelmingly positive, with 99% of learners finding the content engaging and 97% recommending the modules to fellow educators. As one educator shared, “Lots of practical strategies and all in half an hour—I will be recommending this for sure!

The SAEW Project is more than just eLearning. Educators have also benefitted from peer support meetings, training workshops, and guest speaker sessions, all designed to enhance their learning and professional networks.

Some of the most popular sessions include:

  • Navigating EC Pathways for Children with Additional Needs – Featuring guest speakers from Link Health & Community and the Association for Children with Disability (ACD), this session explores referral pathways and connections to mainstream services.
  • The Arts in Early Childhood – Led by Gowrie Victoria VIT mentor Jade Dunne and consultant Julie London, this workshop provides practical strategies for incorporating arts into early childhood education.
  • Creating Inclusive Play Environments with Robyn Papworth – A deep dive into designing sensory-rich, inclusive play spaces that cater to diverse learning needs.

Whether you are looking to enhance your skills through eLearning or dive into expert-led discussions, the SAEW Project continues to offer valuable opportunities for professional growth.
