The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) is undertaking a review of the staffing and qualification regulations under the National Quality Framework (NQF).
To help inform their review, ACECQA want to hear recommendations from a wide range of respondents regarding sector challenges such as better supporting quality, reducing unnecessary complexity, and improving national consistency.
ELAA champions high quality Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) and advocates for the NQF to not compromise on quality or qualification.
ELAA and a group of our members have reviewed the ACECQA public consultation document and there was consensus that ECEC qualifications cannot be replaced with micro credentials and that all workers across the sector must have an understanding of ECEC pedagogy and process.
