29 NovImportant end-of-year leave calculation information
Our Member Solutions team is here to support members with Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Agreement (VECTEA) pro-rata annual leave and long service leave calculations for your end-of-year payroll processing.
Who is eligible for a pro-rata annual leave calculation?
Pro-rata annual leave and annual leave loading are only applicable for VECTEA employees who are employed under the 10-week leave model (Clause 36.3, VECTEA 2020) and who:
- commenced employment after the first day of term one
- had periods of leave without pay (LWOP) during the year.
A calculation will not be required if the employee has:
- worked through the year, will be terminating and has not taken LWOP and has all breaks paid
- worked through the year, will be continuing on into 2024 and has not taken LWOP and has all breaks paid.
How to request a calculation
Members may request a calculation via the ELAA website by completing the relevant form under the My Membership portal at Calculations – Early Learning Association Australia (elaa.org.au).
To facilitate this process, we request that any calculations for end-of-year pay processing be submitted to ELAA by the following dates:
ADP clients (in arrears):
- all calculations should have been submitted to ELAA via our website no later than Friday, 1 December 2023. If you have not yet sent through your calculations please do so to ensure that you recieve them in time for end-of-year processing.
Non-ADP clients:
- all calculations must be submitted to ELAA no later than Friday, 8 December 2023.
Our Member Solutions team receive a high volume of requests for calculations during this time of year. While we endeavour to return all calculations within five business days, as it is a peak period, please submit your calculation request as early as practicable.
