18 SepIt’s Melbourne Royal Show time for child Road Safety Education

Posted on 18 Sep 2023

ELAA’s ‘Starting Out Safely’ Road Safety Education team will be part of the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) stand at this year’s Melbourne Royal Show (21 September to 1 October).

Our ‘Starting Out Safely’ team will be on hand to provide wide-ranging advice to families regarding best practice in transportation of children in vehicles. They will be sharing the message that everybody has a role to play to keep us safe on the roads. By keeping children in booster seats until they they are over 145cm, they will be safer.  The stand has fun activities for children and valuable information for families on the safest child car seats for their children.

The team will be also be supporting the TAC’s ‘Keep Children in Booster Seats’ t-shirt tag initiative.   Introducing children and families to the reasons why children need to stay in a booster seat until they are tall enough to fit in an adult seat belt.

The much-loved Road Safety Education duo, The Professor and ThingleToodle, will be at the Show each day.

You can find the team at the Nine News Lifestyle and Local Heroes Pavilion near Gate 1 at the showgrounds.
