29 FebJoin ELAA in shaping the future of the Early Childhood Education and Care sector in Victoria

Posted on 29 Feb 2024

To better understand the challenges faced by the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector regarding staff retention and workforce planning, Early Learning Association Australia (ELAA) is gathering insights and perspectives from diverse stakeholders, including teachers, educators, Committee of Management members, and leaders within the sector.

We believe by engaging with our stakeholders, valuable insights can be gained into the complexities and nuances of workforce planning in ECEC. This process involves exploring factors contributing to staff turnover, understanding the needs and aspirations of staff members, and identifying barriers to effective workforce planning.

Join our focus groups

ELAA is holding a series of focus groups to identify potential solutions, strategies, tools, and resources that have been either tested or proposed to address workforce planning challenges.

A focus group is a powerful tool that facilitates collaboration– a forum where diverse perspectives converge, ideas flourish, and solutions emerge. We will be hosting focus groups to bring together small, diverse groups of individuals with shared experiences or interests to engage in open-ended discussions on shaping the future of the ECEC Sector in Victoria. These focus groups will serve as a vital platform for stakeholders to share insights, exchange ideas, and co-create solutions to address challenges and capitalise on opportunities to attract and retain the workforce required to deliver both Pre-Prep and the continued scale-up of Three-Year-Old Kindergarten in Victoria.

We invite Committees of Management, early childhood teachers, and educators to participate in our upcoming focus groups. Your participation is instrumental in providing valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by teachers/educators, Committees of Management, and leaders in the ECEC sector. We believe that by collaborating and sharing experiences, we can collectively address the needs of our sector and enhance the quality of ECEC.
