25 JanThe Boy & the Ball: a special interactive theatre experience for four year old kindergarten children

Posted on 25 Jan 2025

Arts Centre Melbourne presents “the Boy & the Ball” – an interactive theatre experience for four-year-old kindergarten children.

Starting April 2025, Arts Centre Melbourne invites four-year-old kindergarten children to an interactive theatre experience – the Boy & the Ball, created and performed by Stephen Noonan, an experienced performance creator with a diverse practice working in Theatre for the early years sector.

The Boy & the Ball was developed over two years in close consultation with a highly experienced team of artists and educators, alongside the participation of kindergarten children. It is thoughtfully designed to engage kinder-aged children and immerse them in the wonder of storytelling.

This work was awarded the 2023 Ruby Award for ‘Outstanding Work, Event or Project for Young People‘, presented by the Government of South Australia through Arts South Australia.

This performance can seat up to 35 children at a time and will be held in Arts Centre Melbourne’s purpose-built learning centre The Channel (attached to Hamer Hall).
