10 SepRichard Marles MP finds out why Early Learning Matters at Bond St Kindergarten

Posted on 10 Sep 2019

ELAA member, Bond Street Kindergarten in Newtown welcomed the Member for Corio and Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Richard Marles MP, as a visitor on Tuesday, 5 September as part of Early Learning Matters Week, a national initiative of the Early Learning Everyone Benefits campaign.

The visit was particularly special for Bond Street Kindergarten as, this year, the Kindergarten celebrates 100 years as an early childhood service in the Geelong area and 95 years at its current location. Mr Marles took a tour around the Kindergarten, chatting to staff about the centre’s approach to learning, history, programs and the benefits of quality play-based early learning for children’s development, preparedness for school, and success in adulthood.

The children at Bond St helped out with hosting Mr Marles by assisting in preparing some freshly baked scones and fresh orange juice. Bond St was one of over 40 services across Australian to host a Federal politician during Early Learning Matters Week.
