20 FebELAA CEO Update 20 February 2020

Posted on 20 Feb 2020

This week we were thrilled to launch our new major professional learning event for the year – Learning Brought to Life.

Learning Brought to Life is a one-day event designed to develop, nurture, and inspire early childhood teachers, educators, parent committee volunteers, organisation leaders, and allied professionals. The event replaces the previous two-day Early Childhood Education Conference with a practice orientated program that favours more workshop-style sessions aimed at giving you new knowledge, skills, and resources to take with you and start using in your services straight away. The day will also include special sessions for CEOs and managers of large early years organisations plus a ‘half-day’ option specially developed for parents who manage services through Committees of Management.

There will also be two amazing keynote speakers and we are really excited to announce the first of these – filmaker and human rights advocate, Leslee Udwin, from the United Kingdom. Leslee’s journey from making India’s Daughter, her 2012 documentary about an horrific attack on a female Indian medical student, to founding Think Equal to promote the inclusion of social and emotional learning in early learning programs across the world will make you think about what education is and what it should be.

There’s more information at www.learningbrought2life.org.au . Registrations are now open including a special ‘early bird’ offer. We will be constantly updating the speaker program on the website over the next few weeks as we confirm more presenters. It’s going to be a great event for our sector and the best way to pack a whole lot of learning into one day.

All the best,

David Worland
