06 AprPolicyWorks update

Posted on 06 Apr 2022

ELAA is excited to announce that we are launching phase two of our PolicyWorks Catalogue update.  In 2021, our very popular PolicyWorks 2019 V3 manual undertook a significant review to improve accuracy, design, usability, readability, and applicability. This resulted in the release of 11 fully reviewed and redesigned PolicyWorks templates.

Commencing April 2022, we will begin to release more fully updated policy templates.

The completed PolicyWorks Catalogue will now consist of 42 comprehensively reviewed templates, and will include new policy templates including:

  • eSafety for Children Policy
  • Family Violence Support Policy
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing Policy
  • Whistle Blower Policy

We have also considered the new Child Safe Standards updates that will come into effect in July 2022 in our review. Click here for the release schedule

Our new PolicyWorks Catalogue includes:

  • greater use of bullets and tables for easier reading
  • clearer and more consistent information design
  • colour coded section icons for quick visual scanning
  • colour coded links to internal and external content
  • easily editable templates so you can customise each policy to your service.

The new PolicyWorks Catalogue templates are reviewed by an Advisory Group made up of Early Years Manager representatives, Committee of Management members, and staff from not-for-profit and private providers. We also consult with relevant independent expert organisations including the Royal Children’s Hospital, the Victorian Department of Education and Training, Cancer Council Victoria, Asthma Australia and the Victorian Child Information Sharing Division.

To support our work in reviewing and maintaining the templates following their release, we will also be introducing a subscription model in mid-2022. The subscription model will support ELAA’s work in maintaining, reviewing and updating the templates, and will provide you with ongoing access for the life of your subscription. No more paying for new versions of PolicyWorks, this will all be included in your subscription. If you purchase the new catalogue between now and the introduction of the subscription model, we will automatically give you access to the PolicyWorks subscription and waive the first year’s fee.

Once the entire catalogue is completed, we will introduce a 3-year review schedule.  Each month, subscribers will receive an email to advise them which policies are currently under review and a follow up email informing them of any changes that we’ve made.  This new model will support members with their policy review cycle, making it easier and more sustainable.
